EP PerMed Launches Two Calls for Personalised Medicine Innovation:

The European Partnership for Personalised Medicine (EP PerMed) has announced two significant calls for proposals, fostering advancements in personalised healthcare and the validation of innovative solutions.

Call 1: Joint Transnational Call (JTC2025)

The JTC2025, titled “Pharmacogenomic Strategies for Personalised Medicine Approaches” (PGxPM2025), aims to fund multinational research projects focusing on pharmacogenomics. This call supports the identification and validation of pharmacogenomic markers and strategies to optimise treatment outcomes.

Key Details:

  • Budget: Over €36.5 million.
  • Eligibility: Consortia with at least three partners from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries.
  • Timeline:
    • Call opens: 16 December 2024
    • Pre-proposal deadline: 18 February 2025
    • Full proposal deadline: 17 June 2025

The call encourages interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, involving academia, clinicians, industry, and patient organisations to ensure the translation of research into clinical practice.

Call 2: Fast Track Validation Programme

The Fast Track Call focuses on addressing the validation bottleneck in personalised medicine innovations, offering support for projects ready to advance at least one Technology Readiness Level (TRL). This programme targets start-ups and research teams needing access to top-tier validation centres for a six-month validation study.

Key Details:

  • Funding: Up to €80,000 per project (minimum 70% allocated to validation services).
  • Eligibility: Start-ups, teams, or researchers in EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries.
  • Timeline:
    • Call opens: 10 December 2024
    • Submission deadline: 13 March 2025

Selected projects will benefit from expedited validation processes, enabling quicker pathways to market readiness and clinical application.
